Aside from the new customer deals and ACP savings (above), the best way to save on HughesNet or any metered internet service, is to minimise your data requirements.
Streaming services eat up a lot of data so consider streaming in the lowest quality you’re happy with. When it comes to Netflix, SD uses 1GB/Hour, HD 3GB/Hour and 4K 7GB/Hour.
You could also turn off auto-play on your streaming services and social media accounts. This will stop video/sound/GIFs from playing automatically.
Also, schedule updates, downloads and backups during those free off-peak ‘Bonus Zone’ hours that come with all plans and keep your background app data use to a minimum.
